In 1982, Braniff Airline Captain, Phil Bradley came to one of life's crossroads as Braniff went out of business. Embarking on a totally new career, Phil and Nancy Bradley, risking everything, built a successful fuel business. Upon selling the business, Phil spent several years as an executive with World Fuel Services.

Over fifteen years ago, Phil and Nancy bought a coffee plantation near Orosi , Costa Rica . How it evolved into today's wondrous resort and spa is quite a story. Traveling back and forth from their home in Florida , they initially just planned on building a second home. So taken with the natural beauty of the property, with its streams, waterfalls, and thermal waters, they decided to build a villa so that friends might also share their experience. Everyone that visited was in awe and felt it should be seen by others.

Hence, Rio Perlas Spa and Resort was born

Loving the natural ambiance, the Bradley's have added well over ten thousand trees and plants to the already glorious setting.

They also added something that is unheard of in the resort business a church. The chapel is a replica of the famous church in Orosi which is one of Central America 's oldest churches. The chapel at Rio Perlas is complimented with a convention and reception facility.

The natural thermal pool was built around “Phil's Boulder ” and it brings a wonderful soothing affect on the mind and body. This natural thermal pool is located just outside the complete spa facility.

There are rainbow trout that you may catch and have the chef prepare for your dining pleasure.
